- Chicago footwork, jungle and UK funky influences make their way onto the melodic 2-stepper's debut album.
Blackdown's Keysound Recordings will release the first full-length from 2-step garage artist Sully, entitled Carrier.
Little is known about Jack Stevens, AKA Sully, whose 2008 Phonebox EP on Cambridge-based Frijsfo Beats first brought him to the attention of the bass community. His EPs to date have sat somewhere between 2-step garage and dubstep, finding homes on London labels 2nd Drop, Urban Graffiti and Keysound last year with his bassed-up remix of J-Treole's "The Loot." In keeping with the ebb and flow of the scene he has risen from, Sully's debut album is soaked with a range of influences including the on-pulse footwork sound that has risen to prominence in the UK thanks in part to the import efforts of Planet Mu.
