- The self-titled LP from the Ninja Tune producer will be out this October.
Ninja Tune have announced details of Emika's forthcoming debut album.
The British-born, Berlin-based producer and vocalist, real name Ema Jolly, has become a prominent part of the influential London imprint in the last year, with a number of well-received singles and remixes, plus several live performances for their label showcases throughout Europe. She has also formed other close associations, having regularly laid down vocals for Paul Frick and My My, and helping to conceptualise Ostgut Ton's Funf project of 2010.
Drawing on the bass music influences of her former home cities Bristol and London, as well as Berlin techno, classical piano and her work in sound design, Emika combines them all for her moody and enveloping productions. Emika includes the trio of singles released thus far—"Drop the Other", "Count Backwards" and "Double Edge"—as well as the forthcoming double-sided single "Pretend/Professional Loving", and has been mastered by renowned Berlin sound specialist Rashad Becker.
