- The Australian duo's next LP will arrive on Ghostly International in early 2014.
HTRK have revealed details of their next album, Psychic 9-5 Club, due out in April 2014 through Ghostly International.
The Australian outfit released their most recent full-length, Work (Work Work), in 2011. It was an album rooted in tragedy: band co-founder Sean Stewart died while it was a work in progress, leaving Jonnine Standish and Nigel Lee-Yang to finish it themselves.
Psychic 9-5 Club, Standish and Lee-Yang's first album as a duo, was recorded at Blazer Sound Studios in New Mexico with Excepter's Nathan Corbin on production duties. It was then refined in Australia and finished off in New York over the summer. The record explores a number of themes, from love to the body's reaction to personal loss, and builds on the dubby elements that were audible on Work (Work Work).
It follows the recent 10-inch release from HTRK that featured a remix of Work (Work Work) track "Poison" by Mika Vainio—a long-time influence on the band—alongside a previously unreleased version of "Love Triangle." Lee-Yang recently turned in a mix for Secret Thirteen, which you can listen to here.
