- The Brooklyn-based producer's debut album will see release through Innovative Leisure in July.
Jim-E Stack has revealed full details of his debut full-length, Tell Me I Belong.
Born and raised in San Francisco, Stack moved to New York in 2012 to pursue his musical endeavours. The LP, due out at the end of July, will only be his second release to date, following the "JIMEWL 001" white label that came out via Innovative Leisure in April. The same label will also oversee the album, which presents the producer's varying, colourful tastes across ten tracks. As well as drawing on his love for Detroit techno, the LA beat scene and jazz, the project is imbued with some "really personal shit," according to Stack. "The time period between leaving San Francisco and moving to New York was tough for me," he says. "The music is kind of a reflection of that, of feeling like you don't belong."
