- Sun Gong and Bring On The Sun, taken from the same recording sessions, will be out in September via All Saints.
Two new albums from ambient and new age music legend Laraaji, Sun Gong and Bring On The Sun, will see release in September.
The albums, coming through All Saints, were both created with material recorded during nine hours of jamming. Sun Gong is made up of two side-long drone pieces that explore "the microtonal possibilities of a hammered gong processed through various electronic effects." Arriving a couple weeks after that is Bring On The Sun, a double-vinyl release that we're told sees Laraaji presenting a wider range of sounds.
Both LPs will be packed together as a two-CD set as well. They were edited and mixed by Carlos Niño, a prolific producer with similar inclinations towards new age and freeform music. He'll tour Europe with Laraaji in November.
Laraaji, who has been releasing music for some four decades (his first major record was the Brian Eno-produced Ambient 3 (Day Of Radiance) LP, from 1980), has a longtime connection with All Saints, and the London label has helped to champion his work since the early '90s.
