- The multimedia label will release "weird and wonderful" records and objects—starting with an embroidered patch.
The French experimental artists Paul Régimbeau, AKA Mondkopf, and Frédéric D. Oberland are launching a new multimedia label, Nahal Recordings.
Régimbeau and Oberland have worked together before as part of the drone group Foudre!, and on last year's Mondkopf LP They Fall But You Don't. They've now launched Nahal, a sister label to In Paradisum, that we're told aims to release "weird and wonderful vinyl records and physical objects (patches, silkscreen prints, T-shirts and the like) in limited editions."
Nahal's first two releases become available in May. The inaugural product is an embroidered patch from Thibault Proux, who's helping handle graphics for the label. Next is a collaborative album from Régimbeau and the Lebanese artist Charbel Haber as Good Luck In Death. Their LP, titled They Promised Us A Bright Future, We Were Content With An Obscure Past, is described as "an anti-futuristic and dreamlike manifesto" made from electric guitars, synthesizers and analog electronics.
The following two records are due in October. One's a solo full-length from Oberland titled Labyrinth, the other a reissue of Orbs & Channels, a 2013 album from the dark ambient duo Saåad.
