Mike Shannon's new album, Cygnus Sutra, is out now.
Composed as a soundtrack to an imaginary sci-fi story, Cygnus Sutra's 13 tracks span the range of downtempo styles Shannon has touched on since emerging in 2000. It's the Berlin-based artist's first album since 2008's Memory Tree on Plus 8, and was released digitally by BLKRTZ on the most recent Bandcamp day, Friday, February 5th.
While Shannon's solo releases are rare, he's a regular collaborator with the likes of DeWalta. In 2020, Shannon celebrated 20 years of his label Cynosure with a compilation.
