Run by Mike De Underground, his brother Cool Hand Flex, Uncle 22 and DJ Randall, the De Underground Records store was located in Forest Gate, London from 1991 to 1996. The store, its recording studio and its in-house labels were central to the development of UK hardcore into jungle and drum and bass. As part of London borough Newham's heritage month, Rendezvous Projects has gathered histories from the owners and many of the associated DJs, producers and MCs, such as DJ Hype, DJ Chef, MC Rage, Laura Young and photographer Eddie Otchere.
