The Met Cloisters is launching an electronic music series featuring Seth Troxler's Lost Souls of Saturn, Jlin & Dubfire

- The free online series, which premieres tonight, features each artist performing in the medieval art museum.
- The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York launches a free series of virtual electronic music concerts starting today, June 3rd at 9 PM EST. Called Sonic Cloisters, the monthly program aims to connect the dots between modern techno and art of the Middle Ages. For the Met's first electronic music series, the museum invited Lost Souls of Saturn (Seth Troxler and Phil Moffa), Jlin and Dubfire to present audiovisual shows filmed at different spaces around The Met Cloisters. The Lost Souls of Saturn performance streams today at 9 PM EST via the museum's YouTube channel. Next up is Jlin on July 8th and Dubfire on August 5th. Each show is inspired by The Met's medieval art collection as well as the gardens and architecture of The Met Cloisters. "Much like the medieval art that surrounds each performance, modern techno expresses present-day anguish, expectation, and celebration, responding to inequity, suffering and uncertainty with bright innovation and imagination," the Met said in a statement. Artists worked with museum curators to transform a different space at The Met Cloisters, using lighting and extended reality technologies to create visuals. Check out images from the performances.
