- The LP, Double Bend, is due next week while his remix of a Marcus Intalex classic, "Backtracking," is out now.
Calibre is back on Craig Richards' label, The Nothing Special.
The drum & bass veteran's new album, Double Bend, marks his latest venture outside of the genre. Continuing his exploration of techno, house and acid, the nine-track record arrives digitally and on triple-vinyl on April 1st.
The news coincides with the release of Calibre's latest single—a remix of "Backtracking," a 2012 track that the late Marcus Intalex made under his Trevino alias. The remix is out now via The Nothing Special.
"Backtracking" was one of Marcus Intalex's "finest creations," the label described in a statement. "Somewhere back there, I asked Calibre, a close friend and contemporary of Marcus, if he would consider reworking it. The result is a wonderful new interpretation of a special tune, which we proudly present in his honour."
Double Bend marks Calibre's first full-length on The Nothing Special since his 2017 album, Grow. It follows his self-released LP from last year, Feeling Normal. For more on the veteran producer, revisit our feature from 2017.
