  • A party commemorating the late Bay Area legend DJ Blackstone is happening in San Francisco on Thursday, April 14th. Taking place at F8 from 8 PM through 4 AM, Club Blackstone will feature a lineup of Bay Area greats, including Doc Martin, David Harness, Steve Fabus and DJ M3. DJ Blackstone's family will also be in attendance. The party is being hosted by Music Connects, a new foundation with aims to increase the diversity of local nightlife through parties, grants, workshops and vocational development programs featuring and platforming BIPOC and LGBTQ artists. The foundation will name an annual grant in DJ Blackstone's honor, given to eligible electronic music artists to aid their careers. DJ Blackstone passed away last year. He was a pioneer in the Bay Area house music scene, promoting parties and spinning records in San Francisco for more than 35 years, and holding down residencies at some of the city's top clubs. In 1998, he cofounded Tarantic Records with Amit Shoham.
