The new website serves as a home for the station's radio archives.
New Delhi's boxout.fm has ended its online radio activities.
The community radio station stopped broadcasting new shows in February after closing its physical studio last year. Its revamped website now offers streaming of mixes, interviews, podcasts, live sets and other content from the radio station's archive.
"The purpose of this shift is to highlight the incredible richness of the boxout.fm archive," radio manager Ayesha Dikshit explained in a press statement. The decision "was a tough one," she continued, noting that the team remains committed to presenting fresh content by local creators.
The transition comes as boxout celebrates its fifth anniversary. Initially launched as a party in 2017 by Mohammed Abood, AKA DJ Mocity, the brand has since evolved into a radio station and label. Following a pandemic-triggered hiatus, its Boxout Wednesdays club night resumed in March and now takes place at New Delhi venue Auro Kitchen and Bar instead of its previous home at Summer House Cafe.
In celebration of its fifth anniversary, Boxout Wednesdays is hosting a series of special parties this month featuring the likes of Nina Las Vegas and SUCHI. Check the event pages below for more details.
