Buenos Aires label ZZK Records has tapped a range of producers across Latin America for its latest compilation
ZZK Sound Vol. 4, arriving May 20th on vinyl and digitally, features artists in Brazil, Peru, Colombia, Argentina and beyond. They include Maga Bo, Tremor, Selvagia and Akilin. Unlike the label's previous club-oriented compilations, this instalment takes a deeper, more introspective approach as contributors experiment with Afro-Venezuelan rhythms and Chile's cueca music.
ZZK Records' last compilation was in 2013. In a press release, the label described how the series was put on hold for five years prior to 2020. Recent releases on the 14-year-old label include Dat Garcia's album, Las Fuerzas Almadas and Montoya's Otun Remixes LP.
