Conceptual artist Jimmy Edgar has announced his next album on Innovative Leisure Records.
Liquids Heavens touches on a range of genres such as hip-hop, techno, soul, noise and experimental funk. It features several collaborators, including rappers Trinidad James, 10k.Caash and ZelooperZ, as well as Toronto-based singer Milk. Inspired by liquid matter and the physicality of digital art, the LP will be available on vinyl, CD and digitally on November 11th.
This theme of fluid matter is present in Edgar’s music and his visual art. His recent solo exhibition at Los Angeles gallery Vellum consisted of sculptures made out of beach balls and blow dryers, among other materials.
Liquids Heavens follows Edgar’s 2021 album, Cheetah Bend, also out via Los Angeles-based Innovative Leisure. The Detroit-born act has also released on Warp Records, K7, Hotflush and his own imprint, New Reality Now.
