Melbourne club Colour is closing at the end of the year.
The team confirmed the news earlier today, November 15th, in a statement on social media. "Unfortunately, due to the ever increasing financial pressures in our industry, the operation of our venue has become unviable," the post read. The exact closing date is still TBA.
Since opening in October 2019, Colour has grown into one of Melbourne's favourite venues. The Queensbury St. spot held a 24-hour license and split its programming between a band room upstairs and a nightclub, complete with Funktion-One sound system, downstairs. Past guests include Toni Yotzi, Moopie, Andy Garvey and Sleep D.
"We built the club in 2019 as a means to continue to support the amazing local dance and live music community, and we are proud to have played a small role in filling that space," the post read. "It's been incredible to work with such an amazing amount of new talent, and to watch many of our peers grow into the amazing artists they are today."
Colour will sign off with a busy schedule across the next six weeks, including parties hosted by Lucid, Marination, Bellaqueo, Faith Invention and more. Browse the listings below for full details.
