  • Beloved Barcelona queer party MARICAS is turning five later this month. Taking place on Saturday, January 21st, the promoter's biggest event yet will go down across two rooms at Sala Apolo, the venue home to legendary electronic nights Nitsa and Astin. The party will be hosted by Nitsa Club. Highlights include Dj Saliva, Toccororo, Bashkka and resident and cofounder ISAbella, who will go back-to-back with Octo Octa. Launched in 2018 by three women and non-binary people, MARICAS quickly evolved into one of Barcelona—and Europe's—best queer parties. In 2020, the crew launched a label, which has since released music from the likes of Saoirse, Roza Terenzi, Shanti Celeste and ISAbella. Find out more about the birthday party in the event listing below.
Update, January 5th: This piece was updated to include a mention of Nitsa Club, the events brand hosting the birthday.
