A new compilation honouring Frankfurt institution Wild Pitch Club is arriving via Running Back.
Spanning 26 vintage house and garage tracks in both mixed and unmixed formats, the release was put together by Wild Pitch Club cofounder Ata and Panorama Bar resident nd_baumecker. Artists featured include Deep 6, Kings Of Tomorrow and Ralph Falcon. Double-vinyl, cassette and digital versions are due on February 24th.
Wild Pitch Club was founded in the '90s by Ata and the late Heiko MSO. Held at Nachtleben-Club on Thursdays, it was considered the first club night in Frankfurt for deep house, hosting Robert Hood, Claude Young, Kerri Chandler and Theo Parrish, among others. In 1999, the event came to an end as Ata went on to launch seminal club Robert Johnson.
The new compilation, which includes liner notes by Running Back boss Gerd Janson, is part of the label's Mastermix series, which has previously spotlighted Hamburg's Front Club and New Jersey DJ Tony Humphries.
