  • Fundraising compilations and events support victims of the Turkey-Syria earthquake image
  • A series of events and compilations are raising funds for survivors of earthquakes that shook parts of Turkey and Syria–and where more than 37,000 people have died. Turkish authorities said 31,643 people were killed in the country. According to the UN and Syrian government, 5,800 were killed in Syria. Artists in Turkey and other countries have started to take action with fundraising compilations and music events. Here's a rundown. Invisible Inc is offering a 40 percent discount off all merchandise until Friday, February 17th, with the code eda2023. The label is donating its 50 percent share of Bandcamp sales to Edinburgh direct Aid–a charity focusing on helping people in northern Syria. Label and event crew Eastenderz has released a 21-track compilation in aid of the earthquake appeal. They'll be donating 100 percent of all proceeds to Turkish NGO ahbap. French web radio platform Radio Chiguiro has launched a 49-track fundraiser compilation with 54 artists in just four days. It includes electronic music from Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and Europe. All proceeds will go to a Alliance Urgences which helps organise humanitarian aid with partners including Actions Contra la Faime. Non-profit label UMAY champions underrepresented artists and is donating 100 percent of all Bandcamp sales to LGBTQIA+ earthquake solidarity fundraiser Lubunya Deprem Dayanışması. London-based label xquisite releases has launched a fundraising compilation for Turkish NGO ahbap and Iranian women's rights organisation IKWRO. Proceeds will be split between the two organisations. Here's a list of fundraising events taking place in support of the earthquake appeal:
