- The LP is out April 7th.
Planet Mu boss Mike Paradinas, AKA μ-Ziq, has a new album coming out.
Out on April 7th, 1977 will be Paradinas's first release on Spanish label Balmat, which is run by Lapsus founder Albert Salinas and music journalist Philip Sherburne. The LP's 15 tracks touch on dark ambient, jungle, house and other electronic sounds of the early '90s.
"At times, 1977 feels like an experience of extended déjà vu: when we first listened to it, we had the sense that we already knew this music," said Salinas and Sherburne. "It was as though we had heard it years ago, perhaps on a battered cassette tape lent to us by a friend, and been searching for it ever since. We hope you feel the same."
μ-Ziq's new album comes 30 years after his 1993 debut, Tango N' Vectif, which was released on Rephlex. His last album was 2022's Hello on Planet Mu.
