re:ni and Laksa start label, RE:LAX, with new Laksa EP

- re:ni and Laksa are launching a record label. An extension of the party series and NTS Radio show of the same name, RE:LAX will "explore music at faster tempos" and "try to continue the lineage of jungle, dubstep, grime and UK techno," according to its founders. Laksa will handle the first release, a three-track digital and vinyl EP called Body Score. Out on April 21st, it builds on the bass-heavy, percussive sound of previous releases on Hessle Audio and Timedance. The EP also draws on his experience as a social worker. "As a social worker, I'm into the idea of how music, and especially dancing/raving, can be therapeutic or cathartic," he said. "Just think about those nights which leave you on a high and can help carry you through the week. It's why emotion and feeling in music is very important to us, and the label. All the track titles reference these interconnected processes." re:ni and Laksa will host a label launch party at London's Ormside Projects on April 21st.
