The venue will open with a double-header on September 15th and 16th.
New club XOYO Birmingham has released details of its launch parties, taking place on September 15th and 16th.
Located on Lower Trinity Street in Digbeth, the venue comprises five rooms: XOYO (main room), A/V, The Factory, The Roof Garden (open air) and The Yard (open air). The almost 3000-capacity space teased its launch with a poster campaign around Birmingham that featured the slogan: "All We Wanna Do Is Dance."
The club will launch with a double-header later this month. On Friday the 15th, Dr Banana, Charlie Tee, 4am Kru, Fabio & Grooverider and more will perform, before the likes of DJ Russke, Shaqfive and Mystic Meg handle the Saturday. Local crews will host each of the rooms.
The rest of the season will feature external promoters such as Cirque Du Soul, Percolate and Pure Garage. Among the artists confirmed are Interplanetary Criminal, Shy FX, Roger Sanchez, Stanton Warriors and Roni Size.
"The current state of UK club closures is concerning and the cost-of-living crisis is certainly having an impact," brand director Areti Tziorta told RA. "However, our London venue has proven that with great programming and operations, customers will continue to support, and we're confident the same applies in Birmingham. We'll ensure our in-house events are priced as competitively as possible, and our weekly Friday events will have an experiential, rather than talent-led focus, allowing us to lower entry prices. The initial reaction has been excellent and we're very positive about bringing XOYO to Birmingham."
