  • A new party series is opening in Glasgow this December on the site of historic former nightclub The Arches. Run by local promoters Platform and Watchtower, New World will take over the old redbrick Victorian railway arches below Glasgow Central Station. Six events have been announced so far, running from December 17th through New Year's Eve. Lineup highlights include Nightwave, Junglehussi and a TBA guest (17th); Eddie Halliwell, Tall Paul and Seb Fontaine (23rd); Frazi.er, Gary Beck and Blasha & Allatt (26th); Interplanetary Criminal (28th); and Denis Sulta, LB aka LABAT, Big Miz and Wheelman (31st). "This project is of huge cultural significance for music in Glasgow, Scotland and beyond," said Watertower's Tom Ketley. "Seeing the unfortunate closure of numerous venues in recent years has been hard on the industry. The launch of a new large-scale event series in the city centre will bring job opportunities, boost the local economy and most importantly provide a music space for the next generation to enjoy."
