  • The second edition of Tranuary will take place in Manchester in January. The one-day arts festival is run by trans+ people and centres the trans+ community, creating a space for attendees to share knowledge, collaborate and form new connections. Taking place at SOUP on Saturday, January 27th, Tranuary will deliver a day-to-night programme encompassing workshops, a trans+ cabaret, DJ sets and a dance performance. The first workshop, "beatscaping" hosted by DJ Loveable, will help teach participants how to weave electronic textures together to create their own unique sound. This will be followed by a lino printing session, celebrating trans+ bodies and showing attendees how to make handmade designs. The third workshop, hosted by dancer Shanika Sunrise, will be a waacking dance class (a street dance style popularised in Los Angeles queer venues in the '70s). Prior to the DJ sets which will close out the festival, the Tranuary cabaret will include singing, piano, comedy, dancing and more. Finally, the club night will be soundtracked by Dobbs, Ifeoluwa, THEMPRESS and Kim Lana. Browse Instagram and the event listing below for more information.
