  • Block9, Glastonbury's late-night rave area, has revealed this year's programme in full. The big news is the return of the giant brutalist tower block at Genosys, one of two outdoor arenas. Highlights include a Honey Dijon takeover on Friday, before madison moore, Eliza Rose and Bashkka play on Saturday and Pezz, Jack and Grace Sands celebrate 35 years of legendary Nottingham sound system DiY on Sunday. Also playing on Sunday will be OK Williams, Felix Dickinson and more. Block9's other outdoor arena, IICON, will have a strong audiovisual component, combining state-of-the-art video mapping with music from the likes of CARISTA, Bicep (who will present their new CHROMA show), Roni Size, Blawan, Introspekt, DJ Python and DJ Flight. Every night, IICON will also present an audiovisual rendition of Olivier Messiaen's chamber music masterpiece "Quartet for the End of Time." On more of a clubbing tip, NYC Downlow returns with a slew of house, disco and UK garage names, including Tama Sumo & Lakuti, The Carry Nation, Matt Jam Lamont (who will go back-to-back with Scott Diaz), DJ Spen and Kings Of Tomorrow's Sandy Rivera. New for 2024 will be Saturday's Downlow Day Party, headlined by New York legend François K. As well as the main space, NYC Downlow is home to Meat Rack, which this year has doubled in size. Wallace, Peach, Moxie, Smokin Jo, Deptford Northern Soul Club and Subb-an will all play. To accompany the music across Block9, the team has partnered with fashion designer Katharine Hamnett on a campaign to encourage people to vote in this year's UK general election, which is scheduled for July 4th. "We're proud to join forces with Katharine Hamnett in her drive to boost voting numbers," said Block9 founders Gideon Berger and Stephen Gallagher. "The upcoming UK election will define so much in our lives and every single vote counts." Here's the full Block 9 lineup, and revisit our Five Key Performances feature from 2023.
