Ten years on and Bristol trip-hoppers Portishead unveil a third studio album. Third will be released in late April.
The Bristol-based band fell silent in 1998, apart from a charity concert in 2005 and a secret gig in 2007, but they’re back with a new eleven track album and a European tour including dates at Coachella—where they’re billed above Kraftwerk!—and Primavera Sound in Barcelona. No word as yet on the style of the album, but since the word “trip hop” is about as relevant as skiffle in 2008, expect some changes. What’s certain though is that it’s bound to be...weepy.
