- The Baron of Techno reaches into his crates for an old-school mix.
The ageless Baron of Techno, Dave Clarke, reaches into his crates this October for another edition in NRK's Back in the Box series.
The series, which has seen Louie Vega and Joey Negro educate clubbers on some of their favorite tunes, lets the compilers loose in their own vaults. Clarke, true to his UK heritage, has unearthed some early English house tracks, along with some of the finest late '80s Chicago house tunes that now lie forgotten in the wasteland of mp3 bloggers and boutique labels eager to anthologize acid. It's a refreshing look back to a time when Blake Baxter ruled the world.
