- The label will release a compilation next month of its recent work.
The French label that more than lives up to its name, Versatile will release a compilation celebrating itself later this year.
As the home to I:Cube, Château Flight, Etienne Jaumet, Zombie Zombie, Fabrice Lig and more, Versatile has staked its claim as one of the most surprising imprints around. You rarely know what to expect with one of the label's releases—aside from the unexpected. Whether it be the bass clarinet anthem "Repeat Again After Me," the hotly debated Fabrice Lig 12-inch from earlier this year or Zombie Zombie's krautelectro, however, it's clear that the label's schizophrenia is part of the fun.
Next month, Versatile will be taking stock of just how versatile it is with a collection that gathers up some of its recent highlights—many of which have never seen release on CD. Can't wait for your Versatile fix? Lucky you: The label started a blog earlier this year where you can grab mixes from some of the label's artists, among other assorted ephemera.
