  • Underground House & Techno established in 2010 in East London. Everyone from Dixon to Dusky , Kerri Chandler to Derrick Carter and Jamie Jones to Damian Lazarus have graced the decks at Creche over the years. Now heading into its 15th year in 2024, and with front man Alexis Raphael still at the helm , Creche has undeniably laid down its legacy as one of london’s most legendary and consistent rave parties of the 21st century. Creche started life in, what was, an up-and-coming Shoreditch in February 2010. Just a couple of DJ friends wanting to play a fresh, more musical, uplifting and eclectic soundtrack to the East London underground party scene. From humble beginnings of 80 friends to 1000 people and queues running down Brick Lane in just 5 parties. Those legendary day parties at Cargo, Bricklane’s Brickhouse and The Queen of Hoxton had an overwhelming emphasis on doing the opposite of what was going on in East London back then; which was warehouse parties. Instead, Creche took quirky club venues with cool outdoor terraces or roof gardens, where full-day parties could take place. It was a refreshing change from the tired warehouse scene. That combined with the music policy of everything from Disco through to cutting edge House music had, by accident, created something unique. In October 2011 they held ‘The Big One’ , now regarded by many as one of the best large scale House raves ever thrown in London. Pairing Jamie Jones and Kerri Chandler, who had never met each other, never mind played together, again provided a unique musical experience which took Creche from the freshest intimate underground day party, to a full on rave of underground electronic music bliss . The event took place at Ministry of Sound, with the outdoor car park being turned into a raving terrace heaven. From 2pm until 6am Monday morning people of all walks of life danced until the very last beat; special days. What was to follow was a series of legendary events at Ministry, whilst in the background, the scene exploded in London with many new parties starting up with a similar musical basis. The new London House movement had begun. By mid 2013, the music was starting to change, DJ fees had gone through the roof, there were loads of new parties all trying to do the same thing and the team felt like it was time to take a step back, end on a high so the last london party for, what was to be a couple of years, took place at Pulse, ‘Creche of The Titans’. This sell out event marked the end of Creche’s 4 year run. From 80 people to 3000, Creche had pioneered the fresh wave of House music explosion in London and now others were to take the baton and push forward. During 2014-2015 Creche held a season in ibiza as well as many mountains in unique locations , like old finkas and secret beach locations. In 2016-2017 Creche returned to London with some intimate parties, keeping things low-key and returning to their original roots. Once again using unique venues, the Bow Arts Club, and some never before used venues in now trendy Tottenham and Curtain Road. In 2018 things had gone full circle and London needed freshening up again, and so, Creche returned to Ministry of Sound for a sell out party! Since then it's been an emphasis on eclectic electronic music from House to Techno, again returning to their roots and using great venues for day parties. Creche in its 15th year powers on with no sign of losing popularity as a new generation of ravers discover the party. The Creche team refused to compromise in lock down by throwing anything less than a full on rave with everyone dancing. We recommend checking out their vibes and being part of a London raving institution...
