  • Our club is located down in a - historically infamous - ship (veronicaschip) on the northern shores of the city. Specifically located at the NDSM-wharf in Amsterdam North. The 50-metre-long ship has been loaded with music since Radio Veronica took over the ship in the 60’s and started broadcasting popular music on pirate radio airwaves out of the North Sea. The radio station was beloved by the youth of those times, not only because of the pop music in their shows, but also because of the somewhat illegal situation of the station. Due to a storm breaking its anchor the crew had to abandon ship on 2nd of April in 1973 and the radio transmitting seized to broadcast. From the 11th of May music will return to the ship, when Noorderschip opens its club doors every Friday and Saturday. Giving room to local artists as well as to current international established underground names, the club itself will be fitted with a Funktion-One sound system. The dancefloor itself is located under water level, aside from having a positive effect on the sound quality it also adds a different feeling to the dancefloor all together. The no- nonsense club can be filed under ‘intimate’ as it holds up to 300 people. Noorderschip appreciates and respects the tolerant and distinctive drive of the city and its residents and will hold these values high. Besides your weekend dance-offs there is also a possibility to eat and drink throughout the day. Next to that, the day programme will be filled with art, music, various courses, lectures and more, which makes sure the veronicaschip is an all-round location for the curious ones.
