- After their first brilliant 'Azur' Ep on Klang & an outstanding remix for Spektrum for Playhouse, Destillat returns with yet another stormer. The 3-track Ep kicks off with 'Regatta' on the A-side, straight up minimal techno with a catching bassline complimented by the funky squelching extraterrestrial noise. The track revolves around the switching of basslines back & forth, at the same time, introducing a variety of different tripped-out sounds throughout. The best part yet is near the end of the track where it gets really psychotic. The echoing clicks embarks you on a mind-bending journey, throws you around with the panning of the siren and propels you back to your demented self, leaving you seriously deranged.
On the flip, 'Astropin' is a serious atmospheric number with a fun funky bassline. But don't let the bouncing bassline fool you, Destillat's trademark is evident once again with the spooky sounds & effects. Again, this track, too, rips you up, tosses you around, and shoves you to the land of the unknown. Scary.
Next is, 'Flugrost'. A dark brooding minimal with metallic stabs and sweeps. The real deal comes when the vocoder snaps out of nowhere and kick off the pulsating bass. Prepare for the dark side. This Ep is literally out of this world ... just when you thought you have heard enough.
