- TSYT Recordings has finally touched down here for their first release by Vitality. TSYT Recordings is the love child of Mark Wheawill and after many years of dreaming about it, Mark has finally brought the people together for what should be a bright beginning. So it is fitting that Vitality, which is one of Mark’s alter egos along with Evenflow, Source of Gravity and TSYT, gets first dibs as TSYT’s debut single.
Mark is all over his own productions as he puts in two varied and positive remixes.
Mark’s Dirrty Remix is one that immediately turns heads as fresh, clean break beats are mixed with acidy, floating effects and catchy, retro melodies. As the track progresses with more synthesised fun, a killer, 80’s synth melody is unleashed and automatically I’m thinking tight jeans and perms. A variety of melodic pleasures throughout this mix makes it even more enjoyable to listen, let alone dance to. The mix has a great long break down, but as the track rounds the middle mark, it takes a new feel as it relaxes the senses with minimal melodies and the sprinkling of quirky sounds. Two very big thumbs up here.
Turning it over for Mark’s Red Alerrt Remix we see things grab a little edge and rip it forward with energetic beats and simple baselines. Mark keeps true to form here with more effects taking to the flow with crazy, wharped sounds. Synthesised vocals and the whole siren/alert feel really fill up the remix and creates a slightly chaotic effect. One thing that I have found apparent in each of these mixes is Mark’s ability to blend that smooth sample or atmospheric sound alongside rocking beats. Quality stuff.
This is a very unique release from Vitality and will be a great first release for the TSYT label. Highly recommended!
