- An exciting (and unusual) preview of the veteran producer's next album.
- John Tejada has never been a traditionalist, but you can tell by the opening track of his new album that something's different here. The beat is broken and staggered, slapping back and forth across each musical bar like a game of Pong. (A flattened, bitcrushed snare sound adds a little something.) Everything is shiny, spacious and dubby, like Loscil meets Mount Kimbie, but Tejada's signature is in the musicality, as mournful chords and percussive pops form into a snaky constellation of a melody.
