- Koreless returns after five years with a low-key remix rife with tension.
- I always imagined Koreless's epic "Sun" as having a Velvet Underground effect. Everyone who understood it soon started their own ambient project. He's had an outsized impact considering his scant discography and shy presence, but now the Welsh producer returns in a high-profile way: the lead cut off the new Caribou remix LP. (Later this month, there's a Perfume Genius remix too.) It's not gonna rewire your brain, but his effort is typically heart-in-mouth, taking the elements that made the original a dance floor destroyer—pounding piano, stuttering vocal, precocious drum fills—and suspending them in midair, creating a tense, horizontal feel in line with minimalist tracks like "Sun." Time hasn't dulled the unique shine of his tracks.
