Innershades - Flying Birds In The Sunset

  • Silver-screen techno full of synthy drama.

  • Although Thomas Blanckaert has been putting out records since the early 2010s, it feels like it's only in the past couple of years that he's found his sound. Big-ticket releases on labels like Cabaret and Time Passages saw the producer fine-tune his symphonic synth work over eerie, creeping low-ends. Four of the tracks on his debut release for his own label, Altered Circuits, would do nicely soundtracking the next Chuckie or Saw film. But the final track, "Flying Birds In The Sunset," is my favorite. It's a bit lighter, with a buoyant lead synth bobbling across a shuffling breakbeat. The high-end is still cinematic, but its colors are more sunrise, less REDRUM.
