Artist Village Detroit is located in the Old Redford District was founded in 2003 by Alicia Marion George(affectioningly known as the Queen of The Village), Charles "Chazz" Miller (founder of Public Art Workz and resident artist of AVD), and John George founder of the Motor City Blight Busters, Detroit is a non-profit housing organization it's mission is to revitalize and stabilize the neighborhoods in the city of Detroit.
Artist Village Detroit is home to Motor City Java & Tea House located at 17336 Lahser Rd. located next door Ray-Ann's and 2 doors from Old Redford Theater.

The Texture team is back with another forward-thinking night of musical mayhem. A heavy lineup with a little of something for everyone. Punk-spirited live shows from Bristol's Giant Swan and local heathens Decliner are paired with a slow, chugging modular set from M Parent. The mighty Mozhgan's extended back-to-back with Jeffrey Sfire, meanwhile, will be one for the heads.
