  • Goodman Arts Centre opened its doors in 2011 with a vision to be a youthful and energetic centre providing a wide range of arts offerings, and serves as a place to bring in the different communities to experience and be engaged through the arts in an intimate manner. The largest arts enclave in Singapore, Singapore Tatler calls Goodman Arts Centre 'a rare artistic hamlet [...]' - (Pg 88, June 2012). Nestled within the culturally rich Mountbatten district, the 7 acre Goodman Arts Centre is a mere 15 minutes drive from the city centre and 5 minutes walk from the nearest Mountbatten MRT Station. Housed within the compound are the National Arts Council of Singapore, 48 arts and creatives group as well as over 35 shared facilities for rental to the arts community including a Black Box theatre, Multi-Purpose Hall, Gallery, rehearsal spaces, ceramic studios, music, dance and art studios, meeting rooms, and seminar rooms. Formerly the grounds of the Tun Seri Lanang Secondary School from 1962 to 1995, then LASALLE College of the Arts from 1992 to 2007, followed by School of the Arts (Sota) from 2007 to 2009, Goodman Arts Centre now houses the National Arts Council alongside a diverse range of tenants from the visual, literary and performing arts. Goodman Arts Centre was set up as a pilot project of the National Arts Council's New Framework for Arts Spaces. Set within a beautiful and charming ground amongst old school buildings and lush greenery, Goodman Arts Centre provides the perfect setting for inspiration and creative work, not to mention a cool hangout for arts aficionados looking to indulge themselves aesthetically and have a nice meal at the same time. Goodman Arts Centre is managed by The Old Parliament House Limited.
