- Israeli Techno DJ / Producer born in 1977. Since 2005 he is producing his own music under the name A Balter."I have worn many hats" says Avishay Balter, "I've been a dive master and a traveler, a student for some real geeky computer related stuff and a software developer. Quite truthfully; I have never been more challenged in my life then my occupation in music. I find it funny how obsessive-compulsive I become when it comes to my studio. It is where I get to pick my brain for hours on end, exploring sounds, melodies, connections and thoughts in resolutions that are simply non existent to me in other aspects of life." He started his music training at an early age, playing the piano. Much later, at the age of 21, he got hooked on electronic music played at the basements of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem and purchased his first turntables. During his studies he worked the double shift, both as a student and as a resident DJ at his old university town’s club. In 2005 Avishay started producing his own music under the name A Balter. His releases on labels such as Iboga, Open, Flow, 4DA and Tribal Vision immediately became the secret weapon of choice for the likes of Spektre, Dave Spoon and Len Faki to mention a few. He is currently a resident DJ for Israel’s leading Techno-Progressive organization and without a doubt one of the busiest DJs in Israel. His DJ sets are known to be hypnotizing, psychedelic and pumping, pushing the crowd to its limits, in all possible directions. As 2010 unfolds it is getting harder to miss the breakthrough of Avishay, more releases are coming and a stack of exciting performances is always lined up, so make sure you catch him at a party near you.
