As a promoter, he believed in the necessity of building a long-standing home, a space that reflected the culture just like the music, an institution that connected legends with local up-and-coming talents. From that point, “Djoon” was born in 2003 to welcome almost every legend out there, from Louie Vega and Joe Claussell to Danny Krivit and Theo Parrish. While diving into the sacred realm of the underground, his knowledge of the physics of the dancefloor grew naturally and he become a carrier of the greats' teachings as both a fervent DJ and producer. Afshin's sound is the blueprint of Paris's true urban, cultural, and social landscape. It reflects the communal need for togetherness and the pursuit of spiritual origins. With his mastery of the groove, he weaves his sets in a way that uplifts his dancers and educates them about the sacred connection that links New York, Detroit and Chicago to South Africa and beyond. “My Grooves” is the name of his musical odyssey in Djoon where he invites different DJs, each one of them having own signature sound, to share the stage and express themselves freely, crossing the boundaries of genres and delivering some of the most eclectic and exciting performances. As a producer, he managed to make a series of highly-danceable edits named "My Grooves Edits" for gems like Cesária Évora’s “Tchintchiroti Na Figueira” and Jimmy Ruffin’s “Fallin In Love”. He also released on labels like GAMM and MoBlack, one of the standing pillars of Afro House.
