- Alex Belluscio, born in Venosa, Italy doesn't define music as a passion. Speaking metaphorically - MUSIC is his SUN - he revolves 24/7 around it.Becoming a Deep House, Minimal / Deep Tech DJ & producer, wasn't what he was planning from day 1. First there was the Jazz Piano and then the electronic music! As a Jazz pianist, he has a deeply anchored sense for groove and rhythm - what makes his performances look so effortless. Behind that easy-going style on stage, lies a tremendous amount of work, dedication and discipline. Since improvisation is one of the most characteristic elements of Jazz music, it was predictable that at one point, he would get bored by just mixing tracks from other artists with simple CDJs. Having the perfect fundamental, he started producing Tech House music at his own studio. Chords still play an important role in his music world, with the slight difference that he now uses synthesizers and adds some pads to them. Apart from being one of the most booked artists in Bern, he was invited to play in those cities in Switzerland that can be considered as having the most developed Tech House scene: ZURICH, BASEL & LUCERNE. Since Zurich is a paradise for art & culture, being booked by Clubs like SPACE MONKEY and FRIEDA'S BÜXE as an artist from Bern means a lot - but then, everyone who hears & sees him play can confirm that he just casts a spell over the crowd! Stemming from Venosa (the city of Venus, goddess of love, beauty, desire and victory) - Alex Belluscio's track selection is heavily marked by emotionally-rich, mesmerising, passionate and sensuous tunes. The Jazz influence is still very present, which shows up by the still impulsive and polyrhythmic way of mixing. On his journey as a DJ he joined the music label TAPETENWECHSEL and started spinning b2b with Jerome Anthony (NACHTSCHWÄRMER) from Bern. He had releases on REVERBS RECORDS (ES), SANGUINA RECORDS (CH), BLIND VISION RECORDS (UK) and BAILE MUSIK (DE). Working with Ableton, Drum Maschine, Arturia V Collection, Diva, Sylenth1, Roland SH-101 - his music style is marked by soulful vocals, polyrhythm, haunting and joyous melodies with somewhere between 126 - 128 BPM. Alex Belluscio is planning on founding an own record label in the very near future and releasing several tracks he produced during the lockdown since all events got cancelled. Even if he's spending most of his time in the lab - he still does a lot of live streams where he shocks everyone who tries to "shazam" his tracks with the fact that his mixing is so enhanced by his impro-style that Shazam rarely recognizes the track - well that's MIXING after all, not replaying!
