  • Alvin C has been lucky enough to DJ at various clubs & festivals around the world including Back II Basics, Chibuku, Fabric, Manumission, Sonar and The Blue Note, to name but a few ...
Alvin Collis, known as Alvin C, started dj'ing at clubs and raves around the south coast of England in the late 80's. Clubs such as Jackie O's and Kevins House in Bournemouth plus the short lived but seminal acid house weekenders at Maximes in Weymouth. After relocating to London in 1990 and working behind the counter at Harrow's finest dance music emporium, Naked Records, Alvin hooked up with Leo Elstob & Stuart Patterson to play at the early Shrink 2 Fit and Soulsonic parties. A couple of years later, after chatting to Dan & Jon Kahuna in the record shop, he started playing at the Big Kahuna Burger in Smithfields, warming up for DJ's such as Tom & Ed / Chemical Brothers, Jon Carter and Derek Dahlarge. Also around that time he was invited to play at Back II Basics in Leeds alongside Justin Robertson and Daft Punk. Mid 90's saw Alvin start work at burgeoning independent record label Wall of Sound where he oversaw a&r coordination and club promotion for over 17 years. Also coordinating the labels club nights & festival events, this took him all over the world, playing at clubs and festivals such as 93 Feet East, Benicassim, The Blue Note, Chibuku, Essential Festival, Fabric, Glastonbury, Manumission, Miami WMC, The END and The Heavenly Social at Turnmills to name but a few .. After a chance meeting at Stealth in Nottingham in 2003 with the Pete & Boggy (Riotous Rockers), the 3 of them decided to start their own club night ASBO at The Social in London. A relocation over to The Lock Tavern in Camden, saw the night run for a decade with guests such as Erol Alkan, Optimo, Trevor Jackson, The Glimmers, Joakim, Todd Terje and many many more .. Today see's Alvin running Special Requests promo, a Club DJ & specialist Radio DJ servicing company promoting electronic music to DJs worldwide, plus a weekly radio show 'Alvorhythms' on Xtra Hot.
