Biografía
- Their passion for electronic music and the club scene began in the mid-90’s with influences from the likes of Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills, Laurent Garnier and local heroes Slam. Inspirations from Chicago and New York clubs..After years of dj’ing separately and being part of bands and other projects, they decided to pour the essence of their musical backgrounds into contemporary moulds, collaborating to perform and host parties as ‘Cotton Cake’. The popularity of the party and performances cultivated residencies at Glasgow School of Art, The Arches and 4 years at the highly commended and renowned Sub Club. Since then they have had great success playing showcasing some of the finest up and coming talent both locally and worldwide. Observing a healthy balance between pop appeal and experimentation has resulted in unusual blends and concoctions not easily found in underground club environments. Most recently they have been busy in their ‘railtrack’ studio in Glasgow, creating their sound as –‘am$trad billionaire’ or ‘am$trad bill’, and continue to play regular sets around the city’s clubs and bars. Past performances at festivals include Rockness, T in the Park and Mhor, as well as regular appearances at clubs further a field, in Stockholm, Rome and London. They have showcased parties and played supporting dj’ing slots with the likes of Claude VonStroke, Trevor Jackson, Boys Noize, Blake Baxter, Superpitcher and Mr.Oizo to name a few… Boasting over!
