Melbourne-born Australian expat Andrew Bergen (a.k.a Andrez) has been making music as Little Nobody since 1997, and relocated to Tokyo 10 years ago.
Formerly from Melbourne, Andrez also hacks together sounds with mates as DJ Fodder, the LN Elektron..
"Andrez" is the DJing alias and "Little Nobody" is the electronic music production alias of Andrez Bergen, an Australian expatriate formerly from Melbourne, who currently resides in Tokyo, Japan.
Bergen is an author and photographer, as well as a music, movie, and anime journalist for the Daily Yomiuri newspaper, and Tokyo Correspondent for Anime Insider, Geek Monthly, and Impact magazines.
He's also written for Mixmag, Toyfare, Remix, Wax, The Age and Herald Sun newspapers, Vice Australia, and Cyclic Defrost magazine.
Bergen is the founder and ongoing manager of Melbourne/Tokyo label IF? Records, which was launched in 1995 and has featured Australian artists Voiteck and Zen Paradox amidst an international roster numbering in the hundreds.
"I started IF? Records principally because I was receiving all these great demo tapes from local artists for my show on PBS," Bergen told journalist Terry Rance in Inpress magazine in 1997. "No-one here was putting them out, and rather than sit around griping about it, I thought I'd try and help them myself."
Bergen produces his own music not only as Little Nobody, but as a member of other production outfits Schlock Tactile, DJ Fodder, Curvaceous Crustacean, Slam-dunk Ninja, Funk Gadget, Atomic Autocrac vs Admiral Anderision, Dick Drone, Conversational Dentures and the LN Elektronische Ensemble.
He's been remixed by Si Begg, Dave Tarrida, Paul Birken, Justin Robertson, Donk Boys, Luke's Anger, Jason Leach, Jammin' Unit, Shin Nishimura, Captain Funk, Toshiyuki Yasuda, Biochip C, Patrick Pulsinger, Bill Youngman, Max Durante, Gene Farris, Tobias Schmidt, Mijk van Dijk, Wyndell Long, and DJ Warp.
He currently lives in Tokyo with his wife, artist Yoko Umehara, and their daughter Cocoa.
