- Welcome To The Colorful World Of Arp FriqueBorn in Rotterdam, man of the world in Amsterdam! Niels Nieuborg (a.k.a Arp Frique) always thought he didn’t have much musical DNA since music was no big part of his early childhood,. Until he discovered his dad used to be a singer till he was forced to quit due to the Dutch conscription. When Niels first heard Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, it changed everything and it was his dad who got him all his first musical instruments. Age 17 he was sent off to medical school and after finishing his 6 hear study he worked at the only Caribbean restaurant in Rotterdam. An eye-opener! A vibrant multicultural vibe led him into the scene of music from Surinam, Cape Verde, Curacao, Morocco and India. After working only for one year as doctor he decided to focus on a musical career as musician, DJ and producer! He also opened his very own restaurant, Toko 94.
