Biografía
- The name Black Soda is now worldwide. Soda, as she’s more commonly known is the alias created by Annely Ickua. Namibian by birth, Annely is based in Luxembourg City, Cape Town, South Africa and more recently, Windhoek, Namibia.Black Soda is a voice of our time. Before music led her into studios across the world, she co-founded the entertainment NPC, Collective Objective in 2011 from a corporate tourism and education background that led her to her creative career in the arts through the then community based musical collaboration event that led to the entertainment agency it is today. Since starting her career as a poet back in 2000, she has gone on to become one of the world’s most popular vocalists, lyricists, event / cypher MC’s and entertainers. Her debut LP, Hysteria (Echonomist, 2014, Rotary Cocktail Recordings) started a worldwide buzz that saw Black Soda feature on collaborations with international DJ’s and producers. Her live collaborations with DJ’s in the underground style makes this artist a voice of our time and a sought after USP booking. Undeniably an addition to leading ladies from genres across the board. Black Soda is also in an alternative neo-soul hip-hop band, the Afbotz and photographs professionally under the banner: Soda B Urban Photography.
