Biografía

  • In the live set he feels at home and like an octopus he’s able to adapt and explore different styles but making his sound unique.
Born in Zaporizhzhia and currently based in Kiev, Anton Umerenko aka Brooht is a multifaceted music producer. Even as a child he showed a deep interest in sound and music. At the age of 6 he started playing his first musical instrument, the Sopilka (the Ukrainian flute), and joined the local orchestra developing a strong passion for Ukrainian folk melodies. Between 2001 and 2005 he explored the sounds of hip-hop, IDM and trip-hop, landing on drum and bass and breakbeat with his first musical project using the alias “Toney”. It was 2017 the year when, after taking part in a major festival in Kiev, he realized that he wanted to make music to make his listeners dance. He started exploring techno, electro and house music, not forgetting his breakbeat influences. But what sets him apart is meticulous sound research and analog music production. His live sets adapt perfectly to the audience in front of him, so that everyone feels free to be themselves, creating unity and harmony. He initially presented his live performances in his hometown. After the release of his track on a vinyl record by the Kiev-based collective “Criminal Practice'' and after taking part in their parties, he began to explore the entire Ukrainian underground scene. He had the opportunity to play in the country's most renowned clubs and parties including Closer and Keller (Kiev), Kultura Zvuka (Kharkiv), Ganok and Promiselove (Lviv). Today, he is scheduled to release his solo EP with the French label Mr.Banger in 2023. He is engaged in producing and creating live analog gear performances, distilling emotions and personal experiences into the music he produces.
