Biografía

  • London based producer and director of Archway Records
Cardinal Sound is carving a slice of the Drum & Bass scene in his own timely fashion. With a brand new imprint ‘Archway Records’ making headway since the start of 2021, the East London based producer can now boast support from some of the UK’s broadcasting legends, including the likes of Annie Mac, Toddla T & David Rodigan to new-age tastemaker DJ’s such as Skrillex, Fred Again, Hybrid Minds, Fred V, Jeremiah Asiamah and more. Moving from humble beginnings opening venues and focussing purely on the craft of DJing, Cardinal Sound aka Frazer Robinson has walked the line and proven himself a sturdy mainstay on the club and festival circuit, through honing the ever-sought-after crowd-reading abilities that pushes a selector forward into becoming a people’s DJ. Combining this with a newer producing career has led to sets at some of the UK and Europe’s most revered festivals, including Glastonbury, Boomtown, Secret Garden Party, Snowbombing, We Out Here and more. Plucking inspiration from the lifeblood of the UK underground music scene, drawing from all corners of Drum & Bass while ensuring danceability and vocal finesse, collaborating with some of the world’s finest vocalist talents. Launching his Drum & Bass discography just 3 years ago in 2020 with ‘FM1’, Cardinal Sound has quickly picked up interest from the leading platforms of the genre (UKF, Drum & Bass Arena), as well as some of Dance music’s leading publications (Mixmag, Red Bull). 2021 has seen releases via his own imprint Archway Records, the institution Shogun Audio and 2023’s releases are lining up on some of the genre’s most respected labels in the UK and beyond. Mixmag - “Watch out for Cardinal Sound, who first caught our ear with a refined, Calibre-echoing palette” UKF - “From what we’ve heard so far, the vibe is definitely sounding right and ready” RED BULL- “Cardinal Sound is carrying the torch for drum'n'bass' next generation.”
