Biografía
- Cardioactive aka Dimitar Yonkov is one of Bulgaria’s most determined techno creatives.Producing as early as 1994 and being involved with the organisation and promotion of events such as the magical Balkan Station festival which takes place deep in the magical Bulgarian mountains and provides a platform for both young and established local talent since 2010. As communism collapsed and Western form of art became more accessible, Yonkov was almost momentously impressed by bands such as Prodigy, Chemical Brothers and Massive Attack. Despite not having a musical background, the Bulgarian began to dig and pay great attention to details when listening to music. This helped him shape his musical taste, and since music was his biggest passion, he started trying to produce. After many years of trial and error, and following his inner artistic voice, Cardioåctive has really something to offer. ‘MY BEST FRIEND’ was released through Bandcamp in June 2016 and includes some of his older and unfinished projects produced between 2007 and 2016. Followed by his releases Kavkaz_01, DTEBM_01, Red_planet, Grozny_01, heartbeat, Sierra Leone, Кривина, Jump, Volga and Казичански mnml, all released in 2019 and available for you to download through Bandcamp. Cardioactive is also one of the founders of Sofia’s contemporary techno promoters Stamina. Over the past few years, Stämïnå’s team (Cardioåctive, Markov and Dimitar Georgiev) have managed to both bring some of the most prominent international techno artists and also to promote local artists. The party series offers fresh aesthetics at a place where the techno culture was previously stuck. Many argue that it is precisely Stamina’s events that helped Sofia form a more passionate and like-minded culture around modern quality techno sound. Since 2017 up to this date, Cardioactive played alongside, and hosted artists such as Remko Beekwilder, Ancient Methods, Milton Bradley, SNTS, Tim Tama, Codex Empire, I Hate Models, Scalamerya, Lag, Marla Singer, Monoloc, Keith Carnal, Hito, Dustin Zahn….
