Carl was first introduced to the sound of house and techno back in 1998 when he visited the legendary Bugged Out! at Nation. That night a certain Mr Carl Cox and another big hitter Laurent Garnier were gracing the ones and twos and Carl never looked back. When returning from University with a love of House & Techno music nurtured by the sounds of Promise and Shindig, Carl taught himself how to mix and then decided to embark on running a night back in his hometown of Liverpool, and Igloo was born. Over the next 4 years the night went from strength to strength showcasing in various venues around Liverpool such as the infamous Dragon bar, The Lemon Lounge, The Kebab House, Walk The Plank, The Magnet (fishtank room) and Studio hosting artists such as Alex Jafar, Sonny Wharton, Silicone Soul & Shur-i-kan. Carl then established himself on the local DJ scene playing alongside prestigious artists such as Guy Gerber, Silicone Soul, Superflu, James Ruskin & Audiojack to name a few at various locally run nights across the city becoming a resident of underground house and techno night Cactus and has played gigs in Glasgow and at an illegal rave in Leicestershire...twice!! In 2010 Carl is excited more than ever with new projects programmed for the autumn/winter in conjunction with hosting nights at a new state of the art club in Liverpool.. SILO. This has coincided with a change of style culminating in a more driving, dark and deep german techno sound which he is set to showcase over the coming months. 2010 brings a lot of promise for the future and more importantly more fun...
