- *Cera Khin doesn't overthink. Freedom, in every sense, drives the North African artist. Whether DJing, producing, managing her label LazyTapes, curating her global event series 'CK Invites' or being an ambassador for mental health in the music industry, Cera Khin trusts her intuition and acts accordingly. Embracing the opposite emotions of vulnerability and strength across her outputs, she has come into her own as an artist. Fuelled by an open mind and a zero f*cks approach, Cera thrills her audience every time, taking them on a transcendental trip through sound, delivered with an infectious spirit that ripples across the dancefloor. Shapeshifting through different moods and melodies with seamless blends and lithe left turns, anything from experimental, hardgroove, techno, psytrance, tek, acid and raved-up edits feature in her energetic mixes. An empath to her core, she reads the room and moves with the crowd, dancing in sync with her steadfast selections, affirming her authenticity as a DJ and maintaining sonic stamina all the way through. Having rumbled the walls of Space Miami, Fuse Brussels, Berghain, Fabrik Madrid and the laser-lit spaces of Awakenings, Dour, Tomorrowland, and Glitch Festival (where Cera played a raucous Boiler Room session), the Barcelona-based talent has amassed a fanbase worldwide who soak up her punchy, playful sets with fervour. 'CK Invites' is an extension of Cera Khin's candescent realm. Founded in 2023, the roaming party spotlights rising artists in international venues. It's her way of giving back to the community, helping newer names branch out in far-flung territories. Following a lucid dream in 2017, Cera launched her label LazyTapes, where she debuted as a producer and released her dream-scape EP "Guided Meditation". Then, she released her solo EP, "Demons To Some Angels To Other", hitting that sweet spot between horror and euphoria in a way that only she knows how. Up next for 2024, Cera will release more music and add exciting producers to the label's cutting-edge catalogue. With a background in psychology and a fascination with brain health, Cera set up the Instagram account Technomentalhealth during the pandemic to share her learnings with the dance music community. Today, it is a valuable tool for artists seeking advice and support in an ever-changing and challenging scene. Born and raised in Tunisia, Cera left her hometown after the Tunisian Revolution and relocated to Berlin in 2014, where she danced her way around the city's club scene. She had no intention of becoming a DJ. Bored of the homogenised take on techno at the time, however, Cera invested in turntables and taught herself how to mix. Later, she helmed residencies on Noods Radio and Rinse FM and regularly appeared on NTS radio, further shaping her artistic profile. In 2022, Cera moved from Berlin to Barcelona to start a new, sunnier chapter in her musical story. Led by her carefree outlook and crystal-clear instinct, Cera Khin embodies the power within through scintillating DJ sets, perceptive productions and a raw energy rooted in her sheer determination and pure passion for the craft.
