Biografía

  • Chaperone is a Philadelphia native who creates tunes and soundscapes that reflect on the urban psyche, the desire to get away, and the investigation of memory without the pitfall of nostalgia.
David Coccagna was born and raised in Philadelphia, PA. He lived in both Santa Fe, NM and Denver, CO where he had become involved in the worlds of installation/sound art and noise performance. After relocating to his hometown, he began releasing broken takes on techno with tapes and records on labels Great Circles, Enmossed Always Human Tapes, and Bastakiya Tapes. He now lives and works in Richmond. He is involved with the electronic music review Behavior whose events pop up throughout the city and have been host to artists such as Karl Meier, Further Reductions, and Willie Burns.
